Area of Work: K-8 Education (Private)
Customer: St. Jude of the Lake School, Mahtomedi, MN
Years of Involvement: February 2012-Present
 
Challenge:
CompuNET International has partnered with St. Jude of the Lake to implement a new network infrastructure from the ground up, with the end goal of establishing a state of the art technology enabled curriculum for its K-12 schools.
 
Approach:
Created an implementation proposal for an eLearning program that would fully encompass the needs of the school that would also serve as a template for other school districts with similar needs. Unique to the CompuNET 360* approach to IT Management, our work does not stop at network/hardware implementation, but extends to Best Practices, funding strategies, operations infrastructure and establishment of an online environment.
 
Activities (Select):
(Phase One- 2 Months)
• Installed a new wired and wireless network to support a staff of 20 and a student body of 220.
• Installed and provisioned a Window 2008 Server with Active Directory and DNS to serve as the Domain Controller.
• Configured and deployed 15 Lenovo E420, Windows 7 Laptop computers.
• Implemented MS Exchange for the faculty and staff utilizing Microsoft’s Office 365 Hosted Service.
 
(Phase Two- 4 Months)
• Configured and deployed 40 Lenovo E420, Windows 7 Laptop computers to be assigned to Middle School students as part of the 1 on 1 initiative.
• Configured and deployed 20 Lenovo E420, Windows 7 Laptop computers in a charging cart for the Elementary School.
• Configured and deployed 50 iPad 3’s in charging Sync carts and implemented Mac mini to serve as their sync master.
• Tested and validated all images and the network community.
 
Accomplishments (Select):
• Provided operational support including Help Desk/remote support, maintenance of supported systems and 24/7 monitoring of network and core infrastructure.
• Initiated and managed the relationships between the customer and IT vendors.
• Obtained a 75% discount on a majority of hardware purchases.
• Provided Pro bono services in order to stay within budget and scope.
• Documented all project deliverables with the goal of establishing St. Jude of the Lake as a Proof of Concept project.
• Established a platform/community to enable collaboration between eLearning practitioners including ongoing seminars and an online web environment.

Customer: University of Wisconsin, Platville (Platville, WI)
Years of Involvement: 2012-Present

Challenge:
To provide Information Technology and Cable TV services to support a newly developed student housing complex of _____ pupils/unit, ensuring maximum coverage and dependability on par with that provided to all of the other residence halls on campus.

Approach:
CompuNET International partnered with the University of Wisconsin, Platville and Capstone on Campus (a private student housing management firm) to ensure Rountree Hall was properly equipped for the technological needs required by the University and its students. Working with Packerland Broadband (fiber installation) to guarantee required internet activity, and Campus Televideo (current provider of UWP Cable TV services), Compunet established and installed a premiere wireless network as well as Cable TV capabilities.

Activities (Select):
• Installed a new wired and wireless network to support a staff of ___ and a student body of ____ residing and working at Rountree Hall.
• Implemented a secure, state of the art local area network consisting of 10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet Connections.
• Installed an 802.11n wireless network with capabilities to ensure a -65db signal strength throughout the property.
• Provided a backup Century Link DSL connection with the ability to support 12Mbps downloads and 1.5Mbps uploads (used as a backup path to the network).
• Oversaw the purchase and installation of equipment for Cable TV access including two satellite dishes and the equipment to modify the signals for distribution.
• Purchased, installed and supported 6 Dell PC’s and 2 black and white laser printers for Computer Lab use.
• Provided 24/7 monitoring of the Network, PC’s and Cable TV services

Accomplishments (Select):
• Provided operational support including Help Desk/remote support, maintenance of supported systems and 24/7 monitoring of network and core infrastructure.
• Ensured security and reliability to limit internet use to registered devices. 
• Provided 100 Mbps of dedicated symmetric internet access delivered via fiber optics.
• Initiated and managed the relationships between the customer and IT vendors.
• Enabled resources to provide a Help Desk Hotline that is staffed 56 hours a week during the Spring and Fall semesters, including a part-time onsite employee.
